On the strength of their appearance in the O'Brother movie, the Peasall Sisters recorded an album on the Varese label. Here they follow that up with another effort, this time on Nashville's Dualtone label. The three sisters are reaching ages now where they can no longer be considered a novelty act, and even though there are some charming moments here, their singing is still tentative in spots and shaky in others --it would seem that they are still a couple of years away from making a really professional recording. They have chosen some good old songs and there is some gentle but nicely done backup work by Randy Scruggs, Larry Perkins, Jamie Hartford and Leroy Troy that complements their trios. They have a ways to go, but the sisters are on the right track. ANGEL BAND, LOGTOWN, THE OLD ACCOUNT, I NEVER WILL MARRY,etc.
