RANDY WALLER AND THE COUNTRY GENTLEMEN 'Keeper Of The Flame'

RANDY WALLER AND THE COUNTRY GENTLEMEN 'Keeper Of The Flame'

  • $13.50

On his 2nd solo release, Randy Waller sounds more settled and confident as he presents a nice program of 14 songs and tunes, including three or four that are associated with his late father, Charlie Waller (LETTER TO TOM, HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE , RAMBLING BOY). While Randy is clearly trying to establish his own sound & act, there are numerous places where his voice is hauntingly similar to his dad’s. Waller is nicely backed in a contemporary Blue-grass style by a new group of “Gentlemen”, Mark Delaney on banjo, David Kirk on mandolin and Gray Creed on bass. There are also some good touches from guests Rickie Simpkins on fiddle and Mike Auldridge on dobro. A solid and quite enjoyable album.
