If any one artist captures the essence of Bluegrass as it used to be, it could be Dave Evans. Steeped in tradition, but highly individualistic, Evans has always gone his own way, and in the process has left us some memorable music. This release is similar to most of his previous albums, in that it combines some Bluegrass classics (OUR LAST GOODBYE, CORA IS GONE), some powerful, mossy old songs that he does so well (LITTLE WILLIE, EAST VIRGINIA BLUES), a couple of originals including a wonderful SHOULD I GO OR SHOULD I STAY, and in this case a couple of Tom T. & Dixie Hall pieces including the fine title song. Bobby Hicks is heard on fiddle on some songs, and Bo Isaac helps out nicely with harmony vocals. Another strong album from a unique talent.
