The minimalist cardboard packaging of this CD has no notes, no indication of where the band is from, no crediting of sources --just a list of the 15 tracks and the names of the 5 musicians (Allistair Newbern is the fiddler in this old-time band). But the music is good: well played, spirited and quite enjoyable. This is another of an impressive number of good old-time bands that seem to have popped up all across the country in the past 4 or 5 years. Tunes include BOAT'S UP THE RIVER, MATTIE GROVE, GOING ACROSS THE SEA, TEXAS TRAVELER, GOSPEL PLOW, REUBEN, SHOOTING CREEK, etc.
