There’s a ton of talent here in this young contemporary Bluegrass band that calls Nashville home. Produced in part by Tim Stafford, the 6-man group is sort of an extension of the sound that Blue Highway has achieved over the past decade, though with a bit more emphasis on the instrumental work: (Jeremy Garrett and Andy Hall are good singers, but it would be very difficult to match Blue Highway’s Wayne Taylor, Shawn Lane and Tim Stafford in the vocal department). Andy Hall’s flashy dobro work kicks up a lot of dust and Chris Eldridge on guitar is a key force as well, in a group that also includes Jesse Cobb on mandolin, Garrett on fiddle, Chris Pandolfi on banjo, and Travis Book on bass (and vocals). The 12 songs and tunes on this record are a mixed bag, with strong efforts in POOR BOY’S DELIGHT, NO MORE TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND, FORK IN THE ROAD and STARRY NIGHT (recorded previously by Blue Highway as BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN GIRL), and three instrumentals that show what the men can do that way. There are three or four so-so pieces, plus one clinker (3 x 5) that adds nothing to a pretty strong debut album
