A pleasant collection of 17 old-time songs & tunes played by this foursome. The songs --mostly learned from 1920s and 30s commercial recordings --are well chosen. The picking and singing are adequate and not pretentious, but the overall sound is a bit thin and tentative: in short, the music is just average when compared with much of what is going on today in the world of old-time music. Tracks include FLORIDA BLUES, MY NAME IS JOHN JOHANNA, CORNBREAD & BUTTERBEANS, YOUR WAGON NEEDS GREASING, FIFTY MILES OF ELBOW ROOM, JUNE ROSE WALTZ, etc
