For a few years in the mid 1950s, Martha Carson had a very successful career as a gospel singer, much of it on the strength of her hit song SATISFIED. That number is on this 25 track compilation, but there isn't very much here to recommend this new collection. We would refer listeners to a previous release on this same label, BACM-161 (JAMES & MARTHA CARSON "I'm Gonna Let it Shine", which includes most of the fine earlier gospel duets that this couple was known for before they split up. There are only 4 such tracks on this album, with the standout being the title cut --great duet singing with solid mandolin & guitar accompaniment. It is a shame that the BACM label could not see its way to put all the James & Martha cuts on one CD, and all of Martha's solo work on the other. Most of the songs here were recorded for the Capitol and RCA Victor labels between 1951 and 1957, and most contain a lot of echo along with hokey back up choruses.
