In our opinion, this is one of the top contemporary Bluegrass bands playing today, with a smooth and distinctive sound that features Kenny Smith's subtle but brilliant guitar work, plus the wonderful singing of Amanda Smith --who has to rank among the very best of today's female vocalists. They are joined by Cory Piatt (mandolin), Austin Ward (bass) and guest Ron Stewart on banjo. The program of 14 songs features exclusively new material from a variety of songwriters (we kind of miss the inclusion of one or two "standards" that helped make previous CDs successful -- like CRUEL WILLIE, RANDALL COLLINS, etc). A fine and very enjoyable album.
