Ms. Vincent has come up with a somewhat different concept here --issuing a 2-CD set that is half Bluegrass and half dedicated to country music. And, there are only 6 songs per CD. But don't let that bother you, as the set is priced as one item at a normal price. And, though a half dozen of the songs are clearly country in origin (ONCE A DAY, BENEATH STILL WATERS, BRIGHT LIGHTS & COUNTRY MUSIC), they are played here in a mostly Bluegrass setting, which works out fine. The 6 Bluegrass songs include I NEED SOMEBODY BAD TONIGHT, WE MUST HAVE BEEN OUT OF OUR MINDS, BUSY CITY, etc., plus ONLY ME --an impressive duet with surprise guest Willie Nelson. It's all good music here and reminds us of what some of Rhonda's main influences were growing up (such as Connie Smith's ONCE A DAY smith's style and vocal inflections are all over this piece. A nice project from one of today's top artists.
