Texan Shiflett had a trio of good Bluegrass records out on the Rebel label some years ago; he retains a good solid band that includes Billy Hurt Jr. (fiddle) and Brennan Ernst among others. On this recording he features more of a country sound, with western swing touches (mostly in the choice of songs and tunes): WHY BABY WHY, OH LONESOME ME, WALKING DOWN THE LINE, PICK ME UP ON YOUR WAY DOWN, YES SIR THAT'S MY BABY, BRING IT ON DOWN TO MY HOUSE, SALLY WAS A GOOD OLE GIRL, THE WALTZ YOU SAVED FOR ME, etc
