The A.L. Phipps Family, from Barbourville KY, were popular traditional musicians through the 50's and 60's. Their music was similar to the style of the Carter Family, and the two groups even played together on multiple occasions. Put out shortly after the passing of A.P. Carter, this LP by the Phipps Family showcases and celebrates the should of the Carter Family.
