Red's boys sure know how to get it done!
'Are You Feeling It Too?' has been a favorite of mine since I first discovered it. The Allen Brothers, sons of Bluegrass hero Red Allen have superb harmonies and interesting takes on bluegrass standards as well as a couple modern tunes from the time. Harley's clear lonesome tenor cuts through the mix as brothers Greg and Ronnie's harmonies compliment underneath perfectly. It's tough to beat family harmonies. The instrumentation perfectly captures the influence of bluegrass of the previous generations but also blends elements of pop and country music of the mid to late 70's. You can also hear the direct influence their father had on them. I know you won't regret picking a copy of what I somewhat consider a passing of the torch!
