Anything that veteran mandolin picker Wakefield does is at least interesting, and this new 16-tune album is that and then some. Frank is joined on 2nd mandolin by a young Taylor Baker and the two pickers provide some very nice moments on the various tunes --most of which will be recognizable to any mandolin picker: HOME SWEET HOME, BONAPARTE'S RETREAT, RED WING, ARKANSAS TRAVELER, MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME, GOLDEN SLIPPERS, LAST THING ON MY MIND, UNDER THE DOUBLE EAGLE, and Wakefield's JESUS LOVES HIS MANDOLIN PLAYER # 1. Brennen Ernst on guitar and Stefan Custodi on bass provide sparse but appropriate additional backing on this enjoyable set.
